One way orphanages supplement their lack of funding is to do mobile medical clinics. This service provides very low cost access for villagers and neighbors to doctors, nurses and medical supplies. For about $5.00 a family can get checked out and treated. The proceeds are then divided between the orphanage and the local doctors & nurses providing the care. Children at the orphanage are treated for free.
