From Andrea

While I have not yet rolled up my sleeves and done the physical work in Haiti, I know that my opportunity will soon come through this program.  As a mother, your natural instinct is to love, nurture, care for and protect children, so it took but only an instant for that overwhelming urge to set in after seeing countless Haitian children in need. Like everyone, I was glued to the TV, internet,  following every story and formulating an image in my mind of a country that I knew so little about. It was difficult to wrap my head around the conditions pre-earthquake let alone post earthquake. Mike was lucky enough to travel to Haiti in January to help out and see the devastation firsthand. Through his photos and video I was more than committed when Mike returned to find a way to help for the long-term in whatever way I could contribute. As a career project manager and fifteen years in the heath care field, my expertise for the Haiti Orphan Rescue Program will lie in helping our organization stay on task with our goals and meeting our commitments to the children. We will strive to create something that is lasting so that our two-year-old son can some day continue the work.  There will surely always be a need.  I am encouraged and excited to see the level of support that we have already received.  It will be a good day when I can finally hold the hands of the children I have only seen in photographs, feed them, change their diapers, sing them songs, make them smile and simply encourage them to keep going. Until then, there is work to be done…

    Andrea,
When I saw Mike & he told me what you were doing with this website and that you were helping for the long-term in Haiti, especially with the orphanages. I was so moved, what a great opprotunity for you I’m glad you have this chance and the connections there to help. As a bystander, I felt helpless watching this unfold, so its very cool to me that you putting this website into action, I can follow what’s happening thru you! I will do what I can to spread the word.
God Bless you and this Effort, I’m proud to know you both!!!
